EA 103L KS - Principles of Soil Science

This course is an intensive introduction to the properties and genesis of soils. Topics include: soil morphology, physical properties, phyllosilicate mineralogy, chemistry, biology, and C and N biogeochemical cycles. Key applications of soils to environmental science, ecology, geology, agriculture, and/or archaeology will be emphasized. This course has a laboratory fee.

Prerequisites: BIOL 043L KS  and BIOL 044L KS , or BIOL 040L KS  and BIOL 044L KS ; CHEM 014L KS  and CHEM 015L KS , or CHEM 040L KS  and CHEM 015L KS , or CHEM 029L KS ; or both semesters of
