PHYS 115 KS - Statistical Mechanics with Numerical Approach and ApplicationThis course covers, at the junior-senior level, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Standard topics include the laws of thermodynamics, kinetic theory, classical statistical mechanics and its connection to thermodynamics, quantum statistical mechanics and its applications. In addition, numerical techniques are implemented and used to solve realistic thermodynamics problems in the computer lab.
Prerequisites: PHYS 033L KS and PHYS 034L KS or both semesters of , PHYS 100 KS (or equivalent), and MATH 111 CM .
