PHIL 132 CM - Philosophy of Cognitive ScienceCognitive science is the study of cognition (and specific cognitive capacities, such as reasoning, perception, and language) by researchers in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science, and philosophy. This course introduces the main issues involving the field’s unifying concept: information processing. What does it mean to say the mind is a computer? What other models of information processing are there? How well do these models explain cognitive phenomena?
