LIT 087 CM - Modern Black FictionThis course explores the major writers, works, and movements in black American literature after the Harlem Renaissance. Particular focus will be given to emerging and diverging traditions of writing and the changing nature of racial representation in the United States. Works may include those by Richard Wright, Ann Petry, Ralph Ellison, James Baldwin, Amiri Baraka, Toni Morrison, and Ishmael Reed.
