Scientific Modeling Sequence

Sequence Requirements

The sequence consists of six courses, distributed as follows:

CSCI 051 CM - Introduction to Computer Science
or
PHYS 108 JS - Programming for Science and Engineering
CSCI 062 CM - Data Structures and Advanced Programming
PHYS 100 JS - Computational Physics and Engineering
or MATH 165 HM - Numerical Analysis
BIOL 133L JS - Dynamical Diseases: Introduction to Mathematical Physiology
PHYS 105 JS - Computational Partial Differential Equations
or a comparable mathematics course (such as Numerical Analysis and Numerical Solutions).
Research Project in Scientific Modeling
The project may be the student’s senior thesis or another research project. Students who use senior thesis for this requirement will be asked to present their research at the end of the semester in which they complete the thesis.

The introductory science requirements in biology, chemistry and physics will also be completed by both semesters of the Accelerated Integrated Science Sequence (AISS ).
