SCI132 CM - Neurobiology of Learning and MemoryThis course addresses the neurobiological basis of learning and memory at multiple levels of analysis from molecular to systems physiology. We will highlight classic studies as well as modern approaches and perspectives. This course will cover sophisticated non-human animal models as well as research done on humans. We will begin with a focus on synaptic mechanisms in simple learning situations and build in complexity through the semester, ending with mechanisms of memory impairment in human neurodegenerative disease.
Prerequisites: SCI 031LACM and SCI 031LBCM , or BIOL 043L KS and BIOL 044L KS , or equivalent courses, or permission of the instructor
