SCI153 CM - Oceans

The ocean covers 71% of our planet, providing oxygen and food, and regulating climate. This course uses an earth systems approach to understand our global ocean and its role on our planet. Topics will include formation of the oceans, ocean-atmosphere connectivity, nutrients and primary productivity, the carbonate system including ocean acidification, interactions of ocean and climate variability, and changes in oceanography on geological timescales.

Prerequisites: SCI 031LACM and SCI 031LBCM, or by permission of the instructor
