PHYS 115 JS - Statistical Mechanics with Numerical Approach and ApplicationThis course covers, at the junior-senior level, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Standard topics include the laws of thermodynamics, kinetic theory, classical statistical mechanics and its connection to thermodynamics, quantum statistical mechanics and its applications. In addition, numerical techniques are implemented and used to solve realistic thermodynamics problems in the computer lab.
Prerequisites: PHYS 033L JS and PHYS 034L JS or both semesters of AISS, PHYS 100 JS (or equivalent)
