MATH 152 CM - Statistical InferenceAn introduction to statistical inference. Topics may include sampling, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, graphical methods of data analysis using software, comparison of two samples by parametric and non-parametric methods, Bayesian methods, linear regression. The course will present the mathematical theory behind the techniques of statistical inference. At the same time, students will gain experience in applying the techniques to data sets drawn from real world examples. Offered jointly by CMC and Pomona.
