PSYC166 CM - Foundations of Data Science for Human CognitionThis course introduces students to R, a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. Students will learn how to clean, manipulate, transform, join, and tidy data sets to prepare for statistical modelling. Supervised (e.g., regression) and unsupervised (e.g., clustering) approaches will be applied to understand simple and complex relationships between cognitive and non-cognitive variables (e.g., biology, aging, education, socioeconomic, health, etc.). Students will apply their skills to wrangle, explore, and model relevant data sets for a hands-on project for local scholars, offices, organizations, or industry participants. Data sets and relevant readings will change depending on semester. Not open to students who have completed CSCI 036 CM , CSCI 036 PZ, ECON 122 CM , or ECON 160 CM
