GOVT152C CM - U.S. Politics and Social PolicyAn examination of U.S. social policy using multiple approaches to theorizing, measuring, and researching public policy. Focusing on key areas, such as education, healthcare, housing, and welfare policy students will analyze how U.S. social policy shapes political meanings, paying particular attention to the impact of race, gender, and class inequalities on policy decisions, especially during times of crises. Participants will apply research and scholarship to current social policy challenges, using a variety of methods.
