ECON185 CM - Economics of EducationThis course offers students an in-depth look at education from an economic perspective. We will explore issues in education markets using both theoretical and empirical tools. We’ll start by discussing causal inference as it’s applied in education research. We’ll then focus on the returns to education, including effects on wages and employment, social mobility, health, innovation, civic citizenship, and social cohesion. Next we’ll turn to education market structure, including the demand for and supply of education as well as inputs to education production. Finally, we’ll conclude with a section on education policies from early childhood to college and job training.
