PSYC144 CM - Leadership and Persuasion

This course addresses the core question of “How can strategic leaders avoid resistance to change and convince stakeholders to willingly commit to new strategic directions, new ventures, and innovations and to embrace them in their commitments?”. It draws upon research in communications, rhetoric and leadership to illustrate the multi-dimensionality of influencing through persuasion. The course explores and applies the techniques that research suggests are most effective. In summary, it explores the theory, research and the application of persuasive communications in leading.
