LIT169 CM - Freud, Kafka and MusilIn the writings of the psychologist Sigmund Freud, the fabulist Franz Kafka, and the novelist Robert Musil, twentieth century German-language culture produced three of the most significant expressions of modernity in crisis. We will study each of these challenging modernists in their historical context, paying special attention to the different forms in which they work and the different modes of interpretation they foster.
