LIT137 CM - Gay and Lesbian Cinema in the U.S.This is a survey of gay and lesbian cinema in the U.S. from the early 20th century to the present. The course examines depictions of gay/lesbian themes in Classical Hollywood cinema of the 20s-60s, as well as more recent examples including Sylvia Scarlett, Tea and Sympathy, The Children’s Hour, The Killing of Sister George, Poison, Swoon, Watermelon Woman, and Brokeback Mountain.
