LIT133 CM - Film and LiteratureThis course examines correspondences and affinities between literature and film in aesthetic, cultural, and social contexts. Throughout, we will look not only at specific case studies of literary adaptation or cross-reference, but consider the larger questions of cultural value implied in these transactions. Writers and film-makers to be considered include Henry James, Virginia Woolf, Carson McCullers, Stephen King, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Roman Polanski, and Robert Altman.
