GOVT163 CM - Ending Slavery: The Democratic Statesmanship of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick DouglassThis course will focus on the different ways two anti-slavery statesmen worked to end slavery within the constraints of a democratic society. Readings will be drawn primarily from the speeches and writings of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and their opponents.
