GOVT146 CM - The New Cold WarThree decades after the end of the Cold War, a new cold war with opposing blocs threatens to plunge the world into a more dangerous era. Economic fragmentation, proxy wars, and an arms race are in full progress even as humanity confronts the existential calamity of climate change. This course examines the origins of the New Cold War, its underlying security and geo-economic drivers, the scope and characteristics of this conflict, the strategies of its primary belligerents and the likely consequences of this conflict.
