GOVT129 CM - Immigration Policy in America; Past, Present, and the FutureIn this course, students will gain an appreciation and understanding of the politics that have shaped immigration policy in the United States. The course will focus on three key parts of immigration. First, students will be exposed to the historical roots of immigration into the United States. Second, students will be exposed to the factors shaping the successful integration of immigrants into the country. Third, the course will review current immigration policy, its weaknesses, and the challenges preventing reform. By the end, students will have a firm grasp of the historical roots and political determinants of immigration policy.
