ECON140 CM - Monetary and Fiscal PolicyIn this course, students investigate the interaction of monetary and fiscal policy in market economies so as to understand the welfare effects of various policy interventions including interest rates, quantitative easing, and deficits. To do so, we build theoretical models using both pen and paper and computer simulations. Students will learn constrained optimization, and the basics of programming for scientific computing. The course will prepare students for more specialized topics in macroeconomics.
