PHIL183 CM - Philosophy and LiteratureThis course explores the connections between philosophy and literature. Topics vary by semester. Sometimes the course will explore the philosophical issues that arise within literature. The course might also explore the contention that literature provides a special kind of philosophical insight that conventional philosophical writing cannot. Some sections of the course might reflect philosophically on the aesthetics of literature, asking, among other things, what, if anything, makes one work of literature superior to another. Additional topics might be included as well.
Prerequisite: one prior course in Philosophy.
