FREN115 CM - The Francophone CaribbeanA study of works of writers and artists from Haiti, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. Analysis of fiction, non-fiction, films, and popular cultural forms. The course will provide a comprehensive view of Caribbean creative expression. It will also introduce students to the historical and social contexts from which the works emerged. Attention to questions of community, identity, language, migration. Will include some discussion of post-colonial theories.
