FREN120 CM - Order and Revolt in French Literature

A study of selected writers from the 18^th century to the present who have confronted, in particularly significant ways, dominant social values and literary conventions. A historical perspective will be provided to explicate the various dimensions of the literary text in its relationship to society, history, and culture. Readings will include works by major French and Francophone authors.
