ECON080 CM - Financial and Monetary History of the United States, 1700-1938This class surveys American Financial and Monetary History from 1700-1938. The class will focus on the development and importance of financial institutions. Particular attention will be paid to the origins of central banking in the United States, the role of banks and equity markets in promoting long-run economic growth, development of financial markets, and the causes and consequences of the Great Depression for economics and economic policy-making.
