PHYS115 KS - Statistical Physics with Computational ApplicationsThis upper-division course focuses on statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Topics include the laws of thermodynamics, kinetic and transport theory, quantum statistical mechanics (including micro-canonical, canonical, and grand canonical ensembles, Bose and Fermi statistics) and applications. Both analytical and numerical techniques will be emphasized.
Prerequisites: PHYS 035 KS ; PHYS 100 KS ; MATH 032 CM
