GOVT169 CM - American Political Thought IThis course will examine the emergence in America of revolutionary ideas about law and politics and their embodiment in wholly new forms of government. The course will then consider the implications and contradictions in these ideas and institutions, as revealed in the debates leading up to the Civil War.
