Student Self Transportation Policy

Students often travel off-campus for events sponsored by the College, including for events hosted by student organizations. For these events, you may decide to transport yourself and/or other students to the off-campus location instead of through college transportation. By transporting yourself instead of through college-provided transportation, you agree you are assuming the risks of the dangers inherent in driving to and from the event (meaning the College is not liable for such injuries and damages related to your choice to drive your own vehicle). If you are driving a DOS vehicle or driving anyone other than yourself to a college sponsored event, you must be a college authorized driver. You may initiate the process to become a college authorized driver by emailing Joe Bender at jbender@cmc.edu. Please note that this process may take up to 1-2 weeks to complete.
