Staff and Faculty Travel


The Claremont Colleges have partnered with AIG to provide Foreign Travel Assistance Services for faculty, staff, and students who travel on College related business and incidental personal travel up to seven days before and after the scheduled end of the travel for college business.  This plan also applies to qualified guests.  Highlights of coverage are below.

  • Accidental Death - $25,000
  • Accidental Dismemberment/Paralysis - according to schedule 
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation - $100,000
  • Excess Medical Expense - $50,000 with $100 deductible ($1,000 for mental health)
  • Security Evacuation - $1000,000
  • Repatriation of Remains - $50,000
  • Quarantine Daily Benefit - $100 with a maximum benefit of $1,000

Additionally, it is highly recommended that all international travel be registered on the CMC Travel Registration System www.cmc.edu/surveys/travel/.  Doing so will speed CMC and AIG assistance or evacuation in the event of an emergency.

Staff and faculty should register their foreign travel with the U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) (or with the home country embassy, for international faculty and staff):https://step.state.gov/step/
