HIST061 CM - The New Asia: China, Japan and Korea in the Modern EraRevolution, state building, modernization, and socio-cultural change in three representative cultural zones of Asia. The first part of the course examines imperialism and de-colonization, socio-religious reform movements, changing gender roles, and dynamics of political revolution.
