RLST101A CM - The MahabharataThe Mahābhārata is one of two great Hindu epics composed roughly at the turn of the common era. It is a massive text: it runs ten times the length of the Odyssey and Iliad combined. It was vital to inhabitants of the Indian Subcontinent in the past and remains so today as it is reinterpreted and reworked. It tells the story of the great battle between two sets of cousins, the Kauravas and the Pāṇḍavas. This class will explore the Mahābhārata as a text and a living tradition.Offered: Every other year Credit: 1 Course Number: RLST101A CM
